Scotch & Soda Coin Trick
Effect: A English penny changes into a quarter in the spectator's hand.
1. Routine: Magician hold both coins (English penny & US half dollar) by fingertips with hands out-stretched, showing them to audience; one coin is in each hand. He says "Look! I have a English penny and a Kennedy half dollar." Put them together and say "It is obvious the English penny is smaller in size the the half dollar." Put both the coins into the participants hands. Ask the participant to "take a coin in each hand without looking at them and make a fist, then place hands behind them". The magician's hands are open and empty. Now say to participant "Now, with one coin in one hand and one coin in the other, I'll bet you (a Scotch & Soda) that I can take away one piece without touching the coins. Perform a "magic gesture' and then say. "The English penny is gone. I won the bet! The English coin is now a quarter!"
